This is a brilliant cut with an oval, rather than round, girdle outline. It was invented in the 1960s and is increasingly popular for engagement rings, either as a solitaire stone or as a centre gem for three-stone styles. Oval diamonds are cut with different width to length ratios, providing a variation of the shape for different tastes.
Oval shaped diamonds such as design 63 create an optical effect of making the diamonds look bigger than their carat weight would suggest. This is due to the elongated shape being set perpendicular to finger. Ovals can also be very good value on the market.
Why not arrange a viewing of an oval shaped diamond today or request prices for your perfect engagement ring. |
