Shopping for Diamonds Antwerp

Diamonds Antwerp is a commonly searched term on search engines in Ireland.  Cheap flights have paved the way for the Antwerp diamond district to start selling directly to Irish consumers.  Our equivalent service is a trip to New York.  It doesn't matter what prices for diamonds Antwerp offers, because in the US you are buying in $ and there is no dreaded VAT of 21% - learn more.  And besides, Antwerp is horrible whereas New York rocks!

Like most sources that offer alternatives to the Irish high-street jewellers, there are the good and not so good. Another instance was not nearly so clear cut.  Fiona and Cormac had some great prices from a contact in Antwerp for a 2ct Round, G colour, SI2 clarity diamond.  To be honest, we were struggling to match the prices and grew concerned about the quality of the stone being offered.  We had met with Fiona for a diamond consultation and discussed the different diamond grades and their merits in detail.  The options were to fly to Antwerp and buy this diamond or trust us to find the perfect stone.  In the end she trusted us and we found an F colour diamond with GIA's triple excellent cut grade within her budget.  This was her comment after she collected the finished ring:

"Cormac and I met with the goldsmith today and he set the diamond in front of us so all is now complete!  We are very, VERY happy with the diamond and thank you so much for you help in sourcing it."
